'Dayan' to open Week of Islamic Revolution Arts

Iran 'Dayan' is scheduled to open the Week of Islamic Revolution Arts in Iranian capital, Tehran.

Iran movie 'Dayan' directed by Behrouz Nouranipour is set to first screen at the Islamic Revolution Arts week hold in Tehran, Iran.

Directed by Behrouz Nouranipour, 'Dayan' is a product of Hoze Honari (Center for Art which is a branch of Islamic Propagation Organization).

The flick narrates the future of a war; people who live in a village and try hard for a better future. The people who have experienced war.

The 2018 event, which will be held at the Center for art hall, will host 5 feature films. 'Dayan' is the first to screen on April 10.

Ebrahim Hatamikia's 'Damascus Time', 'Underwater Cypress' by Mohammad-Ali Bashe-Ahangar are two other tiles which will be screened Wednesday April 11 and Thursday April 12 respectively.

 Besides, 'The Lost Strait' directed by Bahram Tavakkoli is the fourth film to screen on Friday April 13.

Finally, on Saturday April 14, Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian's 'Lottery' is set to hit the screen of the event.

The annual event aims to commemorate artists and their activities with theme of the Islamic Revolution.

It is held concurrent with the martyrdom anniversary of Seyyed Morteza Avini.

Avini was an Iranian documentary filmmaker and photographer who was actively documenting the atrocities of Iraq during the Iraq-Iran war in which Iraq invaded Iran.

He was martyred on April 9, 1993 and this day (Farvardin 20 in Iranian calendar) is referred to as the Day of Islamic Revolution Art in his honor.

The Week of Islamic Revolution Arts is slated to officially start Tuesday evening April 10, 2018.
